EUMIND- A CULTURAL KHICHDI*
*Khichdi refers to a traditional Indian dish comprising of rice, lentils and a variety of spices and vegetables all mixed together.
Such is EumInd, where the Poffertjes and Dosa are eaten , where Tap Dance and Kathak share the stage, where Aristotle and Chanakya's philosophies are projected, where the Rhine and the Ganga flow, where Shakespeare's Othello meets Kalidasa's Shakuntala, where the Himalayas meet the Alpines, where Hinduism interacts with Christianity, where Hanukkah is celebrated just like Diwali, where Einstein and Aryabhatt's formulas are used, where the Eiffel Tower meets the Taj Mahal, where two civilizations intermingle to know about each other's society.
We are a part of it and are proud to represent our country.

OUR MOTTO
Keep Calm And Go Green (*o^)
OUR MAIN IDEA : )
Firstly, we interviewed some people. Based on the results, we had many ideas. Inspired by one which we need the most in our lives we have made a Solar Cup. You can see the results of the interviews below.
We conducted an online survey to know about people's Green Quotient. See the answers...
Making Of The Solar Cup
Items you reqiure :
1. Tin Cylinder (height - 7 cm, radius - 3 cm)
2. Nickel Chromium Wire (100 cm)
3. Solar Cells (10 volts)
4. Electrical Tape
2. Nickel Chromium Wire (100 cm)
3. Solar Cells (10 volts)
4. Electrical Tape
Procedure :
1. Clean the tin can with water and let it dry. Please preserve the lid of the can.
2. Coil the Nichrome wire around the tin can.
3. Tape the wire with electric tape
4. Connect the wires with the solar cell.
5. Put water in the tin can and put the lid over it.
6. Wait for 10 minutes and keep the solar cell in the sunlight.
7. After 10 minutes, we get nice hot water.
8. Add sugar and and milk and tea sachets.
9. Enjoy your tea.

Comparision ; )
We read the article of the green manufacturing group of Kuba, Simon, Steyn and Cas from Jac. P. Thijjse. Ours went pretty well and we made a solar cup for all the lazy late birds who are too tired to get their worms! :D... Jokes apart. They made a solar car... And we know that we have to compare us with 2 groups but both JBCN and Sulochanadevi Singhania 's group have done their project only till their Introduction. : ( {As Of 30th January 2017}
Our Group
We made a Solar Cup. Consisting of a metal cylinder, nichrome wires and a solar panel. The wires heat up when the current passes through them. The metal cylinder also heats up and the water also heats up. Then you can add sugar and milk powder and a tea bag to get Tea.

Their group
They made a Solar Car. Consisting of a base, some wires powering some wheels, and a solar panel. It is small, but if they need to increase the complexity, they would add more wheels to balance it better and also some sides. The base build would only be a floor, 4 wheels, a small solar panel , a motor and some wires to connect the solar panel to the motor powering the wheels.
|
SIMILARITIESWell, both of us used solar energy. Also both of us, converted this energy, like they using a motor converted it into mechanical energy, and we used it to covert it into heat energy. Also, our objective behind our devices was basically saving fuel. Because the car will does not use diesel and our cup enables you to not heat water on the gas top.
|
DIFFERENCESWell, we made something which was more possible on the personal scale, whereas theirs was kind of at the commercial scale. And ours was more modified and anyone can use it now, but theirs requires a lot of modification and refinement for driving on roads. Also, not to offend anyone but our article was kind of more decorated and more intricate than theirs. ; D

Awareness Activity
Reflection.....
Well, our project went very smoothly [sarcastically]. We did have times in our group when no one was co-operating, but soon we overcame it. We had a really good time. Also the ideas we got earlier in the project are now becoming our physics projects. We really had a good time talking and understanding the lifestyle of our fellow Indians and Europeans. We could have done some things better like, better planning and more united team work and more accessible communication. Overall, we loved this program and are looking forward for the exchange program.
