"Trixlions"
Hello, we are the “Trix Lions” and welcome on our website! Before you read further on the website we want to introduce ourselves as a group and explain our assignment.
We are an enthusiastic good working group that consist of two girls and two boys: Lara ( groups leader),
Milena ( coordinator), Thomas ( secretary) and last but not least Dymas ( computer expert ).
We know each other because we are in the same class, namely 2TTA1 on the Beatrix College. Last schoolyear we weren’t in the same class, but Lara and Dymas were and Milena and Thomas.
We as a class had the theme “Go Green”, that means that all the websites of our class are about thinking of a better environment. Our main research question is: “Is it possible to reduce your ecological footprint or the ecological footprint of your family by more than 20%?”
So do you want to know how we are going to answer this question using interviews, graphs and more interesting things, then we suggest you to read further.

What do we expect to find?
We expect to find a lot of information about what an ecological footprint actually is. We also hope we will find out how earth is doing right now, because we humans aren't that good for the environment. So it's also quite convenient if we can find some tips about how to make sure that people start to think more about the environment.
Reading research
1. To reduce our ecological footprint our actions must accost the sources of the biggest impacts we humans have on our planet; energy use and eating. Everything we do makes a subtraction on nature. The food we eat, the way we travel, everything. In specific, we can all work on saving water and paper.
2. Footprints are the result of many single choices as well as the activities and policies of government, city institutions. There are many ways you can reduce your footprint, improve your quality of life, and influence policy so that future generations have the same opportunities to have an enjoyable lives.
3. There are many simple things you can do to reduce your ecological footprint. Learn how to reduce your footprint in each consumption category, transportations, food and goods. To discover your biggest areas of resource consumption.
4. Earth day, is a day which is there to remember us human what kind of impact we have on the earth. On earth day lots of tips are explained, about how to life more sustainable. One of these tips was:
- Install energy efficient lights and turn them off when you walk out of the room. Turn off the stereo, TV, computer and power bars off, too, if you don’t use them
We think this is just an easy example for how to reduce your ecological footprint with whole your family.
5. Have you ever noticed your footprints in the sand? When you step, you leave a mark which can last a long time after you have left. The same thing happends when you for example throwing rubish into the nature, you will leave a mark behind. Scientists came up with the idea of the “ecological footprint” to show how we tread on the Earth’s resources, for example water and wood.

Conclusion reading research
We found out a lot of information about the ecological footprint that we didn’t know yet. For example we didn’t know some of the tips to reduce your ecological footprint. We also expected it to be harder to find information about our subject.

Conclusion
Is it possible to reduce your ecological footprint or the ecological footprint of your family? We started with this question when we didn’t even know what an ecological footprint was. After we found out what an ecological footprint is we started with answering the main question. We found out that it is possible, because you can choose what type of energy you use and how you behave outside with the environment, like not throwing trash on the ground. In the beginning we thought we wouldn’t understand what we could do with this subject, but now there’s a whole page about the ecological footprint!
Reflection
We think this was very interesting project, we all learned a lot of new things about the environment. When we started we all had a complete different view about the world. Now we know that you have to be aware of the environment. The cooperation was quite good, but sometimes we had some discussions about work that needed to be done. Not every lesson everyone worked that good, but when we worked we worked really hard. We also had some problems, one day before the deadline our website was deleted and we had to start over. We worked one evening really hard together to fix the website, and here it is. We are very proud and we put a lot of effort in this website. We hope you have learned somethings, and you are going to try to reduce your ecological footprint to.
